1. Prepare your rider profile
Your VocAll rider profile can be edited at any time from Settings, before or during a room while the VocAll interface is unlocked. The rider name remains the main identifier; optional fields include age, gender, motorcycle, experience, riding style and a short bio.
VocAll includes 36 built-in avatars. Tap a rider’s avatar inside a room to open their profile. Opening your own profile also gives direct access to “Edit my profile”.
2. Create a private ride
Open Create a ride, select Private and enter a ride name. Private rides remain intentionally simple and unlimited. Share the generated four-character code or link with your group.
3. Create a public ride
Select Public at the top of the creation card. You can add a short description, select Relaxed, Discovery or Dynamic, or choose Other and type a custom ride style. Capacity can stay unlimited or be set manually from 2 to 50 riders.
4. Find a public ride nearby
Open Find a ride and choose a search radius. Results are ordered by distance and show the useful public profile information. The Map button shows only an approximate privacy area, not an exact rider position.
5. Join and admission
Private rooms use the room code or shared link. Public rides use a join request. You can add an optional 150-character message, and your rider profile is attached to the request so current room members can review it before voting.
You do not need to stay on the nearby-rides screen. VocAll keeps tracking the request while you use other parts of the app. If accepted, a global alert and, when notifications are allowed, an Android notification offer to join the room. Joining is never automatic.
6. Host controls
The host can edit the public ride profile from Settings, transfer the host role and set a meeting point. The host can also open a rider’s action menu and remove that rider after confirmation.
7. Audio and individual volume
VocAll uses the Android audio device available to the phone. Tap another rider to adjust only that rider’s playback volume. The Mic control stops transmitting your voice. The Sound control mutes incoming room voices without turning off your microphone; alerts remain audible.
8. Group map, rider position and meeting point
Location sharing is optional. When enabled, riders can appear on the room map. The optional position bar is disabled by default and appears only when it is allowed in Settings and your GPS sharing is active. With recent positions and a usable heading, it shows each rider ahead or behind with an initial, colour and distance. The host can set one precise meeting point for admitted members and any rider can launch a compatible navigation app toward it.
9. Alerts
Use the alert panel for fuel, break, problem, danger or your custom alert. Received alerts remain visible until acknowledged so they are not missed while riding.
10. Room chat and photos
Room chat supports text messages with an unread indicator and a discreet message sound. Photos can be selected from the gallery or taken directly with the camera, viewed full size and saved to the phone.
Received images are session-oriented and are not presented as a permanent VocAll server gallery.
11. Reconnection
If the network changes or briefly disappears, keep VocAll running. It attempts to reconnect to the room automatically. The host role can also be recovered or handed off so the room does not depend on one original creator forever.
