Is VocAll free?
Yes. VocAll is a free Android app and does not require a VocAll account.
Do all riders need the same Bluetooth intercom?
No. Each rider uses the audio device connected to their own Android phone, so the group can mix different intercom brands or headsets.
Is VocAll limited to two riders?
No. VocAll is designed for group rooms with multiple participants.
What is the difference between a private and public ride?
A private ride is joined by code or link and stays simple and unlimited. A public ride can be discovered nearby and can include a description, ride type and optional capacity.
Does the public map reveal the exact ride position?
No. It intentionally shows an approximate area. The precise host GPS point and precise meeting point are not published in the public directory.
Can a public ride have a rider limit?
Yes. The host can leave it unlimited or set a capacity between 2 and 50 riders. A full ride blocks new admissions until a place is free.
How do public join requests work?
Riders already in the room vote on the request. Admission requires the room’s majority rule; simply finding the public ride does not reveal the room code.
What is the meeting point?
The host can set a precise point inside the room. Only admitted participants receive it, and they can open navigation to that location.
Can the host remove a rider?
Yes. Only the current host can remove another rider. The rider is disconnected and the room code is cleared from their recent and saved ride data.
Does VocAll save my GPS route?
No. Live location is optional. A cumulative distance may be calculated locally for the end-of-ride summary, but VocAll does not store a detailed GPS track history.
Are voice conversations recorded?
No. VocAll does not record or store the content of audio conversations.
Is audio encrypted?
Audio is encrypted in transit through WebRTC. When possible, media is exchanged directly between participating devices.
Does VocAll work without Internet?
No for group communication. VocAll relies on Internet connectivity, so coverage loss can interrupt or degrade the session.
What happens when Wi‑Fi changes to 4G/5G?
VocAll monitors Android network changes and attempts to restore the room when a usable connection returns.
